Priester's is half way between our hometown and Auburn University, so we frequently stop there for tasty treats and a bathroom break on the way to a football game. I have to say, the store has gone downhill some over the last year. The bathrooms are often in disarray, and the store doesn't feel as clean anymore. Still worth a stop for tradition's sake, but it's not as great as it once was.

Sample central. We just stopped to break up the trip and it was a fun little stop. Gift stop similar to cracker barrel. I filled up on pecan samples while the boy had some pecan ice cream of course, well I had a bite. My favorite sample was the honey cinnamon glazed pecans.

Great place to stop, shop and sample pecans when traveling on I65. The history of Preister's is interesting but the best part was watching the candy making process. You can walk up to the second floor (also where their clearance section is) and look over the "kitchen" area. We watched the staff make chocolate pecans, divinity and pies. It was really neat. Preister's offers great samples of their pecans. The key lime is a must try. If you're into candy this is the place for you. They have what I call "old school" candy. The Neeco wafers and candy buttons are my favorite. They also have jelly beans 1/4 lb for 2.99.. They also have blue bell ice cream and offer a nice lunch menu. Ample things to buy here if you're looking to shop for Alabama souvenirs..make sure to pick up a catalog for the holidays. Preister's is open daily from 8a-6p.

This place is a gift shop, fudge shop with a buffet. It's very cute and a good place to stretch your legs and browse. Homemade fudge is FABULOUS! The buffet is not you normal buffet. It's one trip and you get 1 meat, 3 veggies a bread, dessert and drink. It was really good. Not a lot of tables for seating which is why no 4 star, they were super busy and it was a little hectic getting you table. Also a nice big porch to sit on a rocker and eat BlueBelle ice cream :)

Tourist trap alert! They have pecan farms like this everywhere, but that didn't mean I didn't have a wonderful time getting lost inside, eating all the samples like a fat kid loves cake, reading every single flavor of jam and salsa they had, and hoarding candy like a drought was coming in. In the end, I left with a jar of pecan butter. The visual presentation is fun. The service was average to my surprise. I would have thought tourist spots meant more receptive employees but most of them stood around and stared us like we were the attraction. There is a factory in the back but it looks like no one has been there for years. It's a great synopsis to a horror movie.

AMAZING pecans!!!!!! Great selection and you can sample all of the flavors. They also have chow chow and sauces and marinades. Adding on they have lunch and fudge! Also you can buy you pecans and shop for clothes because they have great t shirts. Out front there are a ton of rocking chairs and a nice patio to sit on. Great place to stop. A complete landmark!

Oh, Priesters. The home of every nut flavor imaginable, and plenty of Auburn-Alabama gear to rock while eating your nuts. I've stopped in here with my boyfriend on our way to his parent's house near Orange Beach, because they let us stay for free and his mom loves pecans. We try all the random flavors they sell: key lime, rum, traditional roasted, etc. We usually opt for a variety package with roated, chocolate, frosted and another one I can't think of. Be forewarned that they charge something ridiculous like 10% sales tax!

Candy, Food and Gifts. Since 1935. Enormous tourable candy factory, with gift store and a small restaurant. Sample the Key Lime Pecans.

We stopped at Priester's Pecans, as we always do, when we're traveling along I-65 in Alabama to visit with our family. We usually like to grab some snacks for ourselves as well as an assortment of items to share with family while we visit. We consider Priester's to be our little treat for making long drives to visit family. On this occasion it was Christmas Eve and it was not as busy as it is normally. We had seen a nice assortment on their Web site and were interested in getting it but could not locate it. I asked the male clerk and he was quite rude. He just point in a generalized area as to where it would be, if there was any left and he said that they aren't going to make any more of them. It was very rude that he could not show us where it was located and that he said that they were not going to make more (when we did not ask them to). We never did find the item, but we did find another assortment to purchase. When I took it to check out, the clerk said that it was the display box and that I needed to put it back and get a different box instead. I could not remember where I picked it up as the place is very unorganized. In frustration, I picked up an identical box (which turned out not to be the assortment that I had intended on purchasing). We also needed to use the restrooms but could not as there was a long line of folks. The men's restroom has only one toilet. From what we could tell, the restrooms were not clean anyway. We thought that Priester's Pecans was something special, but we were wrong. Our experience indicated that they are just another company out to make the biggest buck possible without spending any money keeping their store clean, organized or providing any customer service. I anticipate that we'll get to our destination quicker in the near future as we won't be stopping at Fort Deposit, AL

This is one of our favorite stops on the way to Orange Beach. They have a great selection of life is good T-shirts. I love sampling the snacks and always buy a big bag of roasted pecans to snack on at the beach. My children love to go upstairs and watch the kitchens busy with activity. Unfortunately, that is only during the week. The last time we went through on a Saturday there was no cooking. Really a great stop on the interstate. Get gas across the street, shop, snack and clean restrooms.

Two words can describe the allure of Priester's Pecans: FREE SAMPLES. Never before have I been graced with unlimited free samples of over two and a half dozen different treats. You just keep walking in a circle like a sugary musical chairs until your teeth fall out and no one will complain a bit. From pecans to chocolate to chip dips and more you can snack to your hearts content. As for the store, you'll find lots of pricey trinkets to trap the tourists. none of the items really appealed to me although with it's location miles from civilization they always have a packed parking lot.

You must stop by Priester's if you're driving through. It's the nicest bathroom you'll find, and the samples are awesome. The prices on their nuts are a little more than you'd normally pay, but the quality is much higher. Also, the cute store has a ton of fun things to buy or try or just get your mind off the long trip you might have ahead.

I've been visiting this place since I was a kid. I can't make a trip to Mobile without stopping here on the way back! They offer some of the best chocolate treats in the country! They're so good my wife's relatives in Hawaii requests chocolate treats from them often and we shipped there chocolate there for our wedding. Every year around Thanksgiving they open a small store in Montgomery and I buy my favorite chocolate treats. I love almost anything they make with a combination of pecans, caramel, & chocolate! Last but not least I love all the old school candies they have available in their stores!

Not sure why I keep seeing this referred to as a buffet. It is most definitely not a buffet. You choose one meat, 3 vegetables, a piece of bread and a dessert. All on a small paper plate. Your meat choices were fried chicken or roast beef. Fried chicken was dry and chewy. Vegetables were all mushy. Kids chose hot dogs; they were funny colored. The food serving area was messy. So stop for the gift store to sample all the pecan treats, just pass on the food.

This is a great place to stop along 65. It's a huge shop with different souvenir type gifts and lots of sweets! You could easily spend a decent amount of time in here. If we are doing a long road trip we like to stretch our legs around this store and get a sugar fix. They have ice cream (blue bell) and probably every kind of candy you could imagine. You can't forget the pecans. They always seem to be giving free samples of something too.

Love/Hate review. They make great products! But their sampling is unsanitary. They allow people to reach and just grab samples with their unclean hands. How many people don't wash their hands when they leave the bathroom? Now they come and sample Priesters Pecans. Or watch the people pick on pecan samples with their hands but their fingers in their month and get more pecans! GROSS! I am just surprised Priesters does not take more steps to protect the safety of their samples and the health of their customers. But other than that, their products are great! Speaking of bathroom the men's bathroom was flooding the store the last time I was there.

This is a great stop to make on the way home from the beach. They always have a ton of Pecan samples and if you're hungry they have a lunch buffet that will do in a pinch. Really just a good place to relax if you are road weary because there is no place else for miles so you might as well stop here.

We stopped because we thought maybe we could get a good price on pecans thinking this was just a storefront of a working farm. Wrong! Pecans is just a small part of what they sell. When you walk in it looks a Cracker Barrel country store on crack! Eventually you find the candied pecan samples where everyone can freely dig their fingers around in to found just the right piece. Eww. The plain bagged pecans were outrageously priced. For a gift shop this is nice, but don't stock up for baking here!

Great place to stop to and from Florida. There's a large general store like cracker barrel and pecan everything. This is a huge place that can handle a crowd, so even on spring break it's worth a visit. I like praline pecans, chocolate pecans, and roasted salted pecans. Take home some roasted pecans and have them on ice cream, wow. Free samples of all their nuts and if you're there on a week day, you can go upstairs to watch their cooks making pecan candies. There's another location in Georgia on I-75/

Gift shop is like a Cracker Barrel on steroids, if you like that kind of thing. Bathrooms are small and filthy. Only one faucet worked and none of the paper towel dispensers worked. There's nothing keeping people who don't wash their hands from contaminating the samples. All it would take is one person with the flu or a nasty cold to infect hundreds of people. I don't know why the health department allows this place to remain open.

Great, fresh nuts, delicious treats, and FREE SAMPLES!!!! Need I say more? Stop in if you find yourself driving through the area.
